Welcome

A Well-Versed Woman Can Fight Any Battle

Happy Homemaker Monday

I am joining in with Sandra at Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday!

Hello, Sisters! I hope that you had a good week. Mine was really rough. My cat, Sammy, has been sick, as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. On Thursday, I was positive he wouldn't make it. And on Friday, he fell on his side, not moving. I walked away from my computers (work from home) wrapped him in a blanket and rocked him for over an hour, just waiting for him to pass. But he didn't. For the first 45 minutes his eyes weren't blinking, he wasn't moving at all, and his breathing was super shallow and fast. A couple of times I swear I heard him take his last breath, but then he'd start up again. Then after an hour of that, he began to wriggle and I let him out and he walked away! After his brush with death, he began eating and drinking again, using the bathroom, purring when we pet him, and doing some of the things he did before he got sick (laying in the sun, looking out the screen at birds, etc). Over the weekend he's been eating solid food again and he's gained a little weight back. I know he's not out of the woods, but we will see what the vet says. If he lives, I give all the credit to God. I prayed so hard for this little guy. He's been so loyal to me for 10 years. Before he got sick, he followed me everywhere I went. He "worked" with me, slept at my feet, and even waited outside the bathroom! If he doesn't pull through I'm going to be so heartbroken.

*** Right now I am ***

I am trying to stay cool. We made it to 88 today! My son put the window air conditioners in, but those are just in the bedrooms. I have another coming for my office. The cats have a ceiling fan and a box fan - or they can come stay in my room if they are smart!

*** Thinking and pondering ***

I'm on staycation next week. I hope the weather is decent. Just some family time, final edits on my book, and spring cleaning.
